German Federal Filmboard and Passenger film studio announced a coproduction agreement

German Federal Filmboard (FFA) and Passenger film studio announced a coproduction agreement for the next film of Alexander Mindadze Lovely Hans, Dear Peter.
This agreement is unprecedented as traditionally FFA supports national German commercial films. For the first time FFA is willing and ready to participate in the coproduction project with Russian filmmaker Alexander Mindadze.
As a reminder, in June 2011 within the framework of business platform of Moscow international film festival an agreement for common support of the development of coproduction projects between Russia and Germany was made between Russian Cinema Fund and the biggest German funds German Federal Fund (FFA), Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB) and Mitteldeutsche Medienforderung (MDM).
The future film is based on an exceptionally private, full of emotional experiences story of two engineers – Peter and his German colleague Hans who arrived with a business trip to USSR on the eve of World War II. The plot is based on the real life events of prewar period, on the memories of its direct participants.
Famous German actor Jacob Diehl (younger brother of equally famous August Diehl) is confirmed to play Hans. The leading female role will perform one of the brightest actresses of Germany – Birgit Minichmayr. Her filmography includes such films as Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Tom Tykwer and The White Ribbon by Michael Haneke. One more actor who will play in the movie will be Mark Waschke (Buddenbrooks by Heinrich Breloer; Barbara by Christian Petzold).
The producer of the future film from the Russian side will be Liza Antonova. From the German side the film will be produced by Heino Deckert.
